Alternate Label and Printing was established in 1991 as a manufacturer of labels, tags and packaging to the clothing manufacturing industry. The business secured nominations and mandates from many South African retailers over the years and by 2007 was acquired by the Avery Dennison Corporation in a plan to extend their global footprint. In 2023 a decision was taken for Avery Dennison to extract itself from the Apparel Solutions business in South Africa and an agreement was reached with the local management to effect this change, with the minimal effect on all stake holders and most importantly - ensure it included a means to employ our people in South Africa.
Our Evolution
The business established itself again as Alternate Label and Printing and with the support of our most valued customers and the local retailers. A co-operation agreement between Avery Dennison and Alternate Label and Printing further ensures access to global supply chains and the network of affiliates within the Avery Dennison Apparel Solutions business.
